How my unhinged color-coded calendar keeps me sane (and getting sh*t done)
The chaos behind my crazy calendar — and why it actually works
Hey,
If you looked at my calendar (and you will), you’d probably think I’m borderline obsessed (which… fair). But honestly, my calendar is my sanity and the only reason I don’t feel like a hot mess 24/7.
Color-coded chaos (that somehow makes sense)
Everything goes in my calendar. Like everything. If it’s not in there, it doesn’t exist.
I’ve got a color for every type of task, meeting, and energy zone:
Anything Work Related: pink
Calls & meetings: purple
Workouts: yellow
Personal/Travel: Blue
Three goal slots — my day in three acts
I chunk my day into 3 goal blocks:
Morning Goals (7 AM – 11 AM)
This is my deep work. I always start with some kind of movement—either a workout class or a walk. Mornings are quiet, so I find it’s the best time for editing, writing, or administrative work that needs my full brain.
Midday Goals (11 AM – 2 PM)
This block is usually for meetings, emails, and prep. If I’m filming that day, I’ll use this time to get ready, finalize concepts, and set up.
Afternoon Goals (2 PM – 6 PM)
This is when I actually film. The lighting in my apartment is best in the afternoon, so I plan all my content shoots here. It’s also my catch-up zone—anything I didn’t get done earlier gets moved here so I can wrap the day feeling clear.
Why this works (even if it looks chaotic)
I’m Type A and I just love planning. Like, ever since I was little I made to-do lists, I had 1 million different coloured highlighters and everything had to be colour codes. So this is what works for my brain.
I also find it’s such a mental load off me if I just put it in my calendar—because then I can basically forget about it and know I’ll still be on top of everything.
My tip for you
Block out 2 hours every morning—no distractions. Put it in your calendar like it’s a meeting you can’t miss. Because let’s be real: if you had a 9–5, you’d show up for your 9–5. So treat your content the same way. Clock in like it’s your shift. Put it in your calendar—and don’t forget it.
Much Love,
